Ryan J. Caufield, M.D.
Dr. Caufield is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and joined Orthopedic Associates in 2016. His clinical expertise is in primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado. Dr. Caufield received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Pre-Professional Studies from the University of Notre Dame. He then earned his Masters of Science in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He continued his education at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and graduated cum laude.
Dr. Caufield remained at Georgetown University and completed his orthopedic surgery residency in 2010. After residency, he began fulfilling his active duty obligation to the United States Navy and practiced general orthopedics at the U.S. Naval Hospital Naples, Italy for two years and then in Newport, RI at the Naval Health Clinic New England for one year. He then completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. There he trained under some of the leaders in the field of knee and hip replacement. He finished his Naval commitment as the only total joint arthroplasty surgeon at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Northern Virginia. There he enjoyed providing care to active duty service members, retirees, and their families.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Caufield enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, photography, and spending time with his family and friends. He is excited about the opportunity to practice medicine in his home state and contribute to the Denver area community.
