Here we are – it’s summer 2021, and the COVID-19 pandemic has just about ravaged every corner of the globe. Here in America, things are beginning to pick up again. We are on the upswing, and with vaccinations increasing in cities, towns, and villages around the nation, the summer months are poised to be a return to normalcy. Just ask CNN, who claims that “summer is about to be lit.” With that in mind, it’s important to keep in mind that we have all just been through a year’s worth of trauma. Over the last 18 months or so, we’ve distanced from our loved ones, we’ve spent time at home in isolation, and we’ve undergone a tough mental test that has surely driven many of us to some frustrating times.

And yet, we’ve made it through it. Summer 2021 is here, and we want to provide you with some thoughtful guidance on how you can go about making it one to remember.

Focusing On The Moment

One of our top tips for preparing your body for summer 2021 is to begin by focusing on the moment. This simply means paying attention to the world around you, observing your surroundings, feeling those feelings and sharing those emotions. It is certainly going to be an emotional time for so many of us who have spent the better part of a year away from our loved ones, afraid to spend time doing the things that we love, and unable to visit the places that we used to love to visit.

With such a shift in mentality, taking the time to truly enjoy yourself and focus on the moment is going to be the defining factor that makes summer 2021 one to remember. So, whether you’re hosting a BBQ at home with friends and family for the 4th of July holiday, planning a weekend getaway to that trendy beach town, or simply looking to spend some more time outdoors with your family, practicing mindfulness and learning to take in the moment in all its glory will help you enter back into the world that felt so distant from us throughout the last year.
